Iain Reid, content director at Carwow, is pleased to see drivers now considering electric vehicles more.
He said: “This is great news for drivers – there has never been more choice when it comes to electric cars, and we’re seeing clear signs that people are embracing it.
“Our data shows that more than one in three drivers (38 per cent) would now consider an EV for their next car, up from just 26 per cent in 2024.
“We’re seeing the same trend on the Carwow platform – EVs now account for 34 per cent of enquiries, up from 24 per cent last year. And it’s not just interest that’s growing – concerns about EVs are falling across the board. The number of drivers worried about range has fallen from 51 per cent in 2024 to 35 per cent, while concerns about charging points have dropped from 56 per cent to 36 per cent and worries about cost have almost halved, from 54 per cent to 29 per cent.
“Perhaps most encouragingly, the proportion of drivers with no concerns about electric cars has more than doubled since 2022, from 19 per cent to 34 per cent. With more models arriving across every segment, it’s clear that greater choice is helping drivers become more comfortable with EVs and find a car that fits their needs.”
