Eleanor Briggs, Head of Policy, Public Affairs & Campaigns at Guide Dogs, said: “It’s great to see more people choosing cycling as an affordable and sustainable way to travel. But for many people with a vision impairment, cycling isn’t an option and instead they rely on clear pavements to get around safely and independently. As e-bikes and e-scooters become more common on London’s streets, it’s vital that pedestrians with sight loss are not put at greater risk by bikes being ridden or abandoned on pavements, blocking their way.”
