Dr Sonya Miller, medical director at TauRx Therapeutics Management, said: “Any advance in at-home testing with rapid, easy access to blood biomarkers in the diagnosis and management of Alzheimer’s disease is to be welcomed.

“Tests like this could help reduce waiting times, increase access to treatments for those that need them most, and help reduce the economic burden on our social care system.

“However, the main thing to remember is that if anyone is experiencing what they think could be a cognitive issue, they should speak to their GP at the earliest opportunity.”
