# Pubs to serve more than 64 million pints of no and low alcohol beer this summer

Karen Tyrell, chief executive officer of alcohol charity Drinkaware, said: “We welcome the continued growth of the low- and no-alcohol category. For many people, substituting alcoholic drinks with low and no alternatives can be an effective way to stay within the Chief Medical Officers’ low risk guidelines of 14 units a week.

“Our 2025 research found that 44 per cent of UK drinkers use low and no products as a moderation tool, up from 31 per cent in 2018. Uptake of alcohol-free drinks among higher-risk drinkers has more than tripled over the same period, underlining the important role these products can play in reducing alcohol harm. Anyone looking to better understand or reduce their drinking can find practical advice and support, including our Drinking Check, on the Drinkaware website.”
