# Every family hub to have dedicated Send specialist, Government announces

Jamie Strachan, operations director at VPZ | The Vaping Specialist, said: “With smoking-cessation support included as a core part of the offer, this programme has real potential to improve health outcomes for families across the UK.

“Smoking remains one of the biggest drivers of health inequality, disproportionately affecting disadvantaged communities—the very areas these hubs intend to prioritise.

“Ensuring parents can easily access effective, evidence-based stop-smoking support within the same place they seek help for their family’s wider needs is a practical and impactful step.

“We see firsthand the difference that accessible cessation guidance and alternatives can make. If these hubs are properly funded and staffed, the integration of smoking-cessation services could play a vital role in reducing harm, improving children’s health, and supporting households on their journey to becoming smoke-free.”
