# Support centres funded for more than 1.8 million veterans – Government

By Sasha Misra — 2025-11-10

Sasha Misra, head of communications, public affairs and policy at Help for Heroes, said: “We welcome this as a step that could strengthen veterans’ access to timely, high-quality support.

“However, for this strategy to be truly transformational, it must deliver real outcomes for those most in need – particularly veterans facing complex challenges such as poor mental health, financial hardship, or medical discharge from the Armed Forces.

“We look forward to working with the Ministry of Defence, the Office for Veterans’ Affairs, and other partners to ensure this strategy is underpinned by evidence, lived experience and accountability, to address the current unacceptable situation where too many veterans fall through the gaps between departments and services.”
