Alina is senior lecturer in applied artificial intelligence at Aston University.

She co-creates innovative AI with and for organisations and society, empowering people to wisely leverage intelligent tech for better, more enjoyable and financially prosperous lives.

At the core of her passion, dedication and expertise lies the responsible development of responsible AI for responsible decision making. This responsibility triad helps society make the most of the benefits afforded by intelligent tech and avoid its dangers.

Alina plays her part in strengthening the economy with AI that complements (not replaces) human activity, automating the rote, data-intensive parts of work while freeing up resources for creative, fulfilling tasks.

The most important impact of her research is enabling people to stop dreading showing up for mind-numbing work and, instead, enthusiastically anticipate the pleasure of tackling nonlinear, lateral, counter-to-data thinking challenge.
