# Andrew McCracken

Director of External Affairs, Asthma + Lung UK

Andrew is director of external affairs at Asthma + Lung UK, a role he started in November 2025.

He is responsible for the charity’s policy, public affairs, and media strategy, ensuring they can effectively advocate for improvements in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of lung conditions.

He brings to the role many years of experience in health communications and policymaking, having previously worked in posts across NHS trusts, medical bodies, national charities, and think-tanks.

Prior to joining Asthma + Lung UK, Andrew spent seven years pushing for better patient outcomes at The King’s Fund, a charity dedicated to improving people’s health.

He is fervent about getting a better deal for everyone with a lung condition, regardless of their income or postcode, and his forensic and fast-paced approach to campaigning is helping to elevate Asthma + Lung UK’s impressive media presence and impactful policy work.
