# Beverley Griffiths

Senior Lecturer in Security and Resilience, Bucks New University

Beverley is a senior lecturer in security and resilience at Bucks New University, specialising in emergency management, organisational resilience, public safety, cyber resilience, risk management and crisis leadership.

Prior to entering academia, Beverley worked across healthcare, emergency planning, resilience and public safety roles, collaborating with government organisations, public sector partners and multi-agency resilience networks to strengthen preparedness, response and recovery capabilities.

Her expertise includes emergency preparedness and response, public safety at events and mass gatherings, healthcare resilience, cyber resilience, business continuity, organisational resilience and risk governance.

She has a particular interest in helping organisations and communities prepare for, respond to and recover from disruption and major incidents.

Alongside her academic role, Beverley is undertaking doctoral research into ethical decision-making in UK emergency management, examining how emergency leaders make complex and time-critical decisions while balancing public safety, organisational priorities and ethical considerations.

Beverley has authored and contributed to publications on resilience, emergency management and public safety and regularly engages with practitioners, professional bodies and government stakeholders to support resilience capability and professional development.
