Chair, Action Against Heartburn

Jill is a retired investment and finance professional who is chair of Action Against Heartburn.

Action Against Heartburn is an umbrella organisation consisting of patient groups, charities and activists who campaign for earlier diagnosis of oesophageal cancer by supporting improved research, treatments and awareness for this particularly lethal cancer.

Jill lost her husband to the cancer when he was only aged 46 which left her with two nursery aged children, and she has been campaigning against oesophageal cancer ever since.

She is also a member of the patient and layperson’s panel of the NHS National Oesophageal and Gastric Cancer Audit and is an active member of the Less Survivable Cancers Taskforce of which Action Against Heartburn was a founding member.
