By Dr Sonya Miller — 2026-08-26

Taking HRT for menopausal symptoms can help reduce a women’s risk of dementia and Dr Sonya Miller, medical director at TauRx Therapeutics Management, says the study is important.

She said: “It is very important to understand that the so-called menopause ‘brain fog’ is a real condition with underlying biological mechanisms that may be addressed by treatments such as HRT.

“This large scale and long-term study has been crucial in highlighting that the significant memory issues that women may experience in the peri-menopausal years is a genuine effect of changes in hormone levels.”
